Special Thanks to VCASH for the 2020 WBD Online Challenge Sponsorship

Since 2019, VCASH has been a proud sponsor of the World Book and Copyright Day event.

The organisation directed and managed by Mrs. Funmi Ojo and Dr. Olusegun Ojo have been critical drivers in the implementation of the annual World Book and Copyright Day Festival annually organised by MAYEIN. VCASH strongly believes in the potential of the Nigerian youth to grow in thinking ability, capacity and competence if exposed to the world of discovery through books, capacity building and literary activities. Thank you for your relentless support through VCASH even in this difficult times.

From the executive director of MAYEIN, we say a big thank you to everyone who has been instrumental to the success of the MAYEIN WBD online challenge.

MAYEIN Commemorates the annual World Book and Copyright Day as an Online Challenge.

MAYEIN spends every April 23rd with teenagers from all socio-economic backgrounds celebrating the World Book and Copyright Day coined as “MAYEIN’s World Book Day Festival” or the annual Book-a-thon. The 2020 version of this event was commemorated virtually as an emergency response strategy to the Covid-19 global outbreak. This annual event celebrates authors, journalists, free lance writers, publishers as well as readers globally.

Our New Washing Tank

MAYEIN YOUTH CENTRE just received the donation of this locally fabricated hand washing tank (made in Nigeria) from London based physician Dr. Emi Ezichi. This timely device  dispenses soap and water with a foot touch pedal.  It will serve at the entrance of our youth facility in ALAKA Community of Ibadan. With this device, MAYEIN team will ensure that all facility users imbibe and maintain a hand-washing culture beyond the era of Covid-19. While the centre is currently not in use as a result of the partial lockdown in Oyo state, we hope to resume activities with a conscious and continuous best safety practice mindset.

HURRAY!

The challenge will include book reviews, copyright short talk challenge and fun literary games with lots of prices to be won.
